Recycling Plastic Containers

Hi, you, how are you doing today?

This is Tonka from pEri!x with your daily unusual home & gift idea. Before I give you my tip for today, I want to wish you happy Monday and a wonderful and productive last week of summer.

So my tip today is about recycling and Earth. I deeply care about the environment and always do what I can to keep it safe, also I try to spread the word about it here in Turkey, where recycling is not so popular at all.

I do two main things which save on a lot of plastic:

1) I use my re-usable shopping bags - one crochet and one tote. What can I say, the whole neighborhood and all the grocery stores I go to, they all know me as the 'Girl who doesn't use plastic bags' They are happy to see it and get inspired by it, too!

2) I re-use plastic containers. This is something which will save the planet, in a way, and save you money, too. Especially in the summer, we buy a LOT OF ice cream which means 1 lt. plastic container boxes left around. Well, I re-use them - wash them and use them to store clean fruit, chopped veggies, leftover rice, whatever you want, in the fridge or freezer.

Re-using plastic containers and boxes is really handy also when I want to pack some leftovers for work, or the hubby's lunch (as he always forgets the containers at work), or if I have friends for dinner and they want to bring some cake home.

Hope you start doing the same and re-using plastic as much as you can!

If you can't recycle it, reuse it!

Cheers
Tonka
