DIY Holiday Greeting Cards

Hey, there!

This is Tonka from pEri!x - the place to find unusual recycled accessories and jewelry.

Today I will give you a very easy, unusual gift card idea. I actually first saw this at Blacksburg Belle and she used this technique to make amazing tea towels, also a great gift idea, so go check it out.

Then I thought, lately I in the mood for handmade easy greeting cards, which are also unusual and original. The idea is to use halved fruit/vegetable for stamping.

What you will need:

1. One halved fruit or vegetable - apple or pepper maybe
2. Ready white plain greeting cards
3. Acrylic paint

I made mine with peppers! Half the pepper lengthwise and paint the inside with the acrylic paint of your choice. Make sure it is not runny.

Then just stamp the painted side on to the card and let dry. Maybe it won't work from the first time, I am saying this from experience, but when it eventually does, after a couple of trials, it looks awesome.

What else do you think has a great silhouette and you can stamp on a greeting card? Coffee beans maybe...

Cheers
Tonka
