Hey, there!
This is Tonka from pEri!x with your daily unusual gift & home idea.
Today's idea can be done in two ways - you can do it yourself or you can buy it online or from various artists or photographers.
It is especially suitable for hostess gifts, for a nursery room decoration, for a child's room and much more. The idea is to make or buy a silhouette portrait.
Silhouette portraits are simple yet stylish and fit any interior design. You can buy or make a silhouette portrait of a person, but also of a an item. How about a simple framed pepper silhouette print for a kitchen wall?
You can buy those at various locations but I want to give you a tip on making them yourself really easily.
You will need:
1. Cardboard or other paper base in the size of your frame - why not use blue instead of white to make it even more unusual?
2. A photograph of the side of your object - make sure it is big size portrait. You an print it especially for that - the image of the person must be big enough to fill 50% of the base
3. Scissors
4. Pencil
5. Black acrylic paint
Cut out the object from the photo - cut just the part which will be silhouetted. Place it (or tape it even) on the cardboard and trace with the pencil. Then remove it and paint the space inside the tracing lines with black acrylic paint. This is where you have to be careful but I think this is quite doable even if you are not experienced with acrylic paint :)
I am so crafty, right? If you want to see what else I do visit my online shop HERE.
Cheers
Tonka
