Hello, hello!
This is your green home lover - Tonka - from pEri!x - the ONLINE SHOP for green gifts!
In this post I just want to stress on the fact how easy our lives are. I watched a show on BBC about the hottest place on Earth. It is a village (yes, with people) where life is something else.
The people there have no fresh fruit or vegetables, they hardly find any greens for their livestock. I don't want to get into detail, you can find it and watch it, if you'd like.
It just made me think how we take everything for granted in our lives - just a quick stop at the supermarket and we can get fresh fruit from almost anywhere in the world all year round.
I wanted to make you think about it, and a very good way to do that is to start your mini garden! I know, I know - who has time, or space, or, or...
BUT
What I am talking about is a spice garden or even a tiny pot. Just choose the most used green spice or herb in your home and start growing a small pot of it (your local garden shop will have everything you need to start).
Benefits:
1) Teach your kids that food doesn't actually come from the supermarket (why not make them responsible for watering the pot even)
2) Remind yourself that food does not come from the supermarket :) and appreciate what you have more
3) Have fresh spices on hand whenever you need them
4) Make your kitchen smell and look green
What is your favorite spice? I have parsley and dill :)
Cheers
Tonka
